About the Teacher

Hello, my name is Jenni and I started the Stafford School of Ballet when I moved to Basingstoke in 2017. I absolutely love ballet and dance and consider it a privilege to teach children to love it too.

My first teaching job was at Highfield and Brookham Schools in Liphook. I started as a Saturday ballet teacher whilst still at university, but soon found myself at school every day, and stayed for seven years. I really enjoyed preparing the pupils for exams, shows and festivals. Most of the lessons were ballet, but I also taught some modern, street dance, and tap.

As well as teaching I have been lucky to perform. When I was sixteen I joined Ballet Theatre Afrikan in South Africa and spent two years with the company. Later, I spent a Summer performing with Canadian Pacific Ballet in Canada, and more recently I did some performances with the Chelmsford Ballet Company here in England. If I was to choose two of my best memories performing I would say Pas de Quatre and The Sleeping Beauty.

In terms of training, I did a Choreography and Dance degree at Winchester University (2012), and am qualified as a ballet teacher with the IDTA (2014). I have also done the Cecchetti DDI qualification and am now working on the Cecchetti DDE. I am a Mutually Appreciated Teacher with the RAD and an Affiliated Teacher with the ISTD, allowing me to enter pupils for exams. I am DBS checked, first aid trained, and have dance teacher’s insurance.
